Introduction to Whitewater Canoeing
Aimed at paddlers who want to move onto or have limited experience of white water.
This course gives you the basic skills to manouevre your canoe on moving water, and prepares you for rapid improvement in the future.
Key elements we will cover are:
- Reading whitewater
- Safety
- Ferrying
- Breaking in / breaking out
- Setting in/ setting out
- Trim and packing
- Lining and tracking
- River running skills
The main objective of the two days, however, is to give you confidence and inspiration.
Experience needed: Competent on flat water

Inclusive of meals and accommodation at Ffynnon Wen for the two days and use of all equipment. Transport is not included. There is an option for B&B before or after the course*
