A true lifestyle guru, Chris combines excellent canoe skills with working his Gipsy Cobs Paddy and Eddie, being everyone's dream grandfather and renovating his Welsh barn singlehanded.

Throughout his life Chris has loved to combine travel and work with his passions for climbing, canoeing, riding, skiing and ice climbing: in the High Atlas, French and Swiss Alps, Dolomites, Pyrenees, Southern Spain, Quebec and NY State. He has run winter expeds to climb and ski off Toubkal, and run countless trips in the Pyrenees. He skied the famous Vallée Blanche in Chamonix, the longest off-piste ski route in the world, and attempted the North Face of the Eiger, but got avalanched off. Chris competed to a high level in slalom, and has done many solo adventures, as well as spending months riding with Turkish nomads with his wife and small child. He recently did the 'River Dee in a Day' with Ray Goodwin, and in the past year has taken to the road in his Gipsy caravan to raise money for Bone Cancer Research unit at Gobowen Hospital.

Leo and Chris worked together 20 years ago at the same centres and have taken every opportunity to share their knowledge and passion together since.

What he doesn't know about canoeing isn't worth knowing - he even makes Ash thwarts from trees he's felled himself and taken to his woodyard with horse power. Chris is always stretching himself and others and we're proud to have him on the Getafix team.
