We are proud of the quality of our courses. We concentrate on high level specialised coach education, REC first aid and bespoke courses for clubs, centres and colleges, as well as pushing standards on BC qualifications and award schemes.

We only use staff, venues, equipment and resources that we ourselves rate highly. We work under the philosophy that you only do a Level 1 once, and that it has to be right. We want you to keep coming back to us throughout your paddling career.

Leo Hoare is our Course Director - having successfully gone through the rigorous BC Quality Assurance/Internal Verification process, Leo is one of very few fully endorsed Directors in the country. Unlike other courses that have not been QA/IV'd ours are all approved with a course number and correctly staffed throughout the duration of the course. We run more BC Coach Education courses than anyone else in the country, and can guarantee the standard is consistently excellent. Please take a look at our testimonials to see what others have said, and come and see for yourself.

We offer Sea kayaking courses and expeditions throughout the year on request. We've also got some Sea Kayak Leader training and assessment dates in the calendar for you.

Since its genesis in 2007, Getafix has gained a fantastic reputation through word of mouth – we consistently deliver fantastic courses with flair and passion of which we are very proud.

We have been instrumental in developing both the UKCC/BCU qualifications and more recently the Rescue Emergency Care scheme for first aid, and have delivered more coaching and leadership courses than any other provider. As well as running skills-based courses and coach education we train and assess coaches to deliver WWSR, FSRT, REC first aid, and BCU Star Awards in canoe, kayak, white water and sea.

Having worked with and developed so many people over the years we have been able to hand-pick an eclectic staff team of specialists who share the same vision and ambitions, and who live for what they do. We are also unique in that most of our paddling courses and qualifications can be delivered yn Gymreag if requested.

Getafix HQ and beautiful accommodation is in Carrog, North Wales; the gateway to Welsh rivers. Our office is in Llangollen. We run courses in the UK, Europe and the USA, and our bespoke courses, guiding and expeditions can be arranged for individuals or groups.

Getafix is proud to be involved with Peak UK, Silverbirch Canoes, VE paddles and Pyranha kayaks and offer all of our students the opportunity to use their latest range of boats, paddles and equipment. We believe having the best equipment is essential to your learning. We are proud to be in partnerships with British businesses.

Our partnerships are important to us: we are pleased to provide a range of training and educational programs for: Gene 17, Wittlingham OEC, Acorn Venture, PGL, Kingswood, Manchester Metropolitan University, CMC Pensarn OC, Outward Bound Aberdovey, Reaseheath College, Norwich City College, Shuttleworth College, Sayers Croft environmental centre and Glan Llyn. We also offer technical advice and staff development.

Our eclectic team of specialists share the same vision and ambitions, and live for what they do.

2017 was momentous year for Getafix. We are now 10 years old. To celebrate we are going to be offering a number of expeditions, which have been designed to excite, motivate and empower.

Reassuringly Getafix.
